My National Homebrew Day SS Minnow Dark Mild is in the drinking cue now. Not bad. Not great, but not bad. It is very light and refreshing when it is hot, but it has been pretty crappy weather wise around here lately. I'll tuck it aside until it is hotter. Another off flavor though. This was an AG, BIAB batch. I get a slight bandaide taste, which is supposed to be from chlorine compounds. When I brewed, I was at a buddy's house who lives in the city as opposed to my well water at home. And with such a light grain bill, I bet that got me. So next time I brew there, I will be sure to have a heavy grain bill, or truck my water over too. It isn't bad, just slightly distracting...to me.
Again, nobody else tastes this. I'm beginning to wonder if I am a super taster. It would explain why I don't do spicy-it blows my taste buds away too much. No pepper, onions have to be cooked down, no green peppers-not even cooked into a sauce. Wonder if there is a way to test this.
Nice high krausen on my graff. Smells great, can't wait.
